Laura Bradstreet has been awarded the Stadium Managers Scholarship for 2008-09. Additionally, she has been invited to attend the SMA 35th Annual Seminar in Palm Springs, CA. Laura graduated cum laude in December 2007 with her B.S. in Sport and Entertainment Management and will continue her studies in the Masters of Sport and Entertainment program.

Bethany Dadisman has been named the inaugural Laura Chichester Memorial Intern for GMR. GMR is an event marketing agency, which specializes in Live Marketing, and is headquartered in Charlotte, NC. Bethany will graduate upon the completion of the GMR Internship. She will primarily work with the Alltel account team and will assist in the football and racing sponsorship activations.

Frank Roach, interim department chair of Sport and Entertainment Management, is featured in the June/July issue of Facility Manager, the official publication of The International Association of Assembly Managers, Inc. The story, The Pro’s Prof, highlights Roach’s professional and academic career and commitment to the department and university.

The Sport and Entertainment Management Department at the University of South Carolina prepares undergraduate and graduate students for a variety of positions in the sports and entertainment industry. The University of South Carolina is unique in Sport and Entertainment Business as the first major University to create a separate department for the study of sport and entertainment in a business curriculum. The goal of the faculty and the department is to create an integrated academic learning environment for analyzing and resolving the challenges in the business of sport and entertainment.
