Third year Hospitality Management student Hilary Yeh has been named one of only 19 students nationwide to receive the 2012 Minority Lodging Management Scholarship awarded by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “We are proud of Hilary for earning this prestigious award, and in particular for it coming from such an outstanding industry organization,” said Dr. Rich Harrill, acting director at the University of South Carolina’s School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management. “This award speaks to the continued dedication of our students as well as the overall quality of our academic program.” An active student leader on campus, Yeh is the founding president of a new wedding professionals chapter at USC. She also serves as an ambassador for the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) and holds membership with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She is set to graduate early in August 2013 and is preparing for a career in the wedding, special event or convention management industry. |
