Biography
Daniel T. Norris is an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina where he teaches courses in network administration, hospitality technology, and business technology management. His professional experience includes corporate information technology support and training spanning 15 years. Dr. Norris received his Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Adult Education where he focused on technology adoption. He received his M. S. in Organizational Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he taught for six years. At USC Dr. Norris researches how information communication technology is perceived, used, and valued at all levels of an enterprise. He is also engaged in applied research in ubiquitous computing where he is developing a mobile technology system that will enhance the hospitality, restaurant and retail customer experience. A major distinction of the enhanced hospitality system is the inclusion of the small local vendor sector that collectively makes up nearly 70 percent of gross tourism revenues in the United States.
