Dr. Siu-Ian (Amy) So is an Assistant Professor at the Institute For Tourism Studies in Macao, SAR, China. Dr. So received her doctoral and master’s degrees in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Purdue University, USA, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis, USA. She was a research associate and project manager at the Purdue Tourism Hospitality and Research Center in the USA and was the lead and co-lead investigator for several funded research grants.
Dr. So authored various articles in scholarly hospitality and tourism journals. She has presented in more than twenty national and international conferences and is also one of the three primary investigators for the Tourism Carrying Capacity Study, and the Projected Manpower Needs of the Hotel and Gaming Industries Study for the Macao SAR Government from 2005 to 2008. She was involved in organizing two International Conferences on Destination Branding and Marketing in 2005 and 2007 and was the co-editor for the two Conference Proceedings. Her research area includes destination/hotel branding and marketing, travel behavior, gaming behavior and special interest tourism.
