For Sport and Entertainment Senior, Andrew Lewis, life as an intern with Feld Entertainment is a 3-ring circus! Feld Entertainment is currently the largest provider of live entertainment in the world. They own and produce Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and several Disney on Ice shows, including the brand new Disney’s High School Musical: The Ice Tour. Feld also owns and produces the stage shows Disney Live! and Doodlebops Live!
 
Andrew found out about the internship with Feld Entertainment at the International Conference on Sport and Entertainment Business. The conference is put on by the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management every November. During the conference, Andrew met several different Feld Entertainment employees and formed relationships with them. Following the conference, Andrew was selected to be an intern.
 
For Andrew, there are no such things as a typical day. One day he could be working on advertising campaigns with media buyers and the next day he could be working on box office issues for different venues. Throughout his internship, Andrew has worked on different grassroots marketing campaigns. He has also worked as an assistant to the Director of Event Marketing & Sales in the Dallas office on various Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus shows. Andrew also handled many logistical aspects for the show like VIP parking and ticket requests.
 
One constant focus during Andrew’s internship has been conducting marketing research so he could help put together a marketing strategy for each of the shows.
 
Andrew credits the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management faculty and curriculum for helping prepare him for success. “The faculty of the SPTE department is top notch, including Professor Frank Roach and Dr. Regan. All the professors work tirelessly to prepare their students for the real world, and I feel that they do an outstanding job. I hope they realize how great they truly are,” says Andrew.
 
Andrew will graduate from the college in December and has already achieved his goal of being hired by Feld Entertainment. He has been hired as the Manager of Event Marketing and Sales for the South Region and he will be working out of the Dallas office. We wish you well as you begin your career!
