Biography
A native of Connecticut, Hedstrom received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross, where she was a four-year coxswain for the varsity women’s rowing team, and her Master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Georgia. During graduate school, she was a NCAA Women’s Enhancement Program Scholarship recipient.
Hedstrom joined the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management in March 2005. In her role, she is responsible for organizing the Sport, Entertainment, and Venues Tomorrow Conference and managing departmental business expenses.
Prior to joining the Department, Hedstrom was Sales Manager for the Columbia Regional Sports Council and Director of the Carolina Marathon Association, a non-profit running organization. Before relocating to Columbia, she resided in Orlando. As Event Manager for Florida Citrus Sports, Hedstrom organized the activities associated with two collegiate bowl games, the Capital One Bowl and Tangerine Bowl. Prior to FCS, she was a member of the event management team at Disney’s Wide World of Sports®.
Hedstrom enjoys running, reading, and going to the beach. She is married to Robbe Hedstrom.
