Biography
Scott is a full-time Partner / Member in the regional accounting & consulting firm of Brittingham, Brown, Prince & Hancock, LLC. Scott teaches Functional Accounting I and Functional Accounting II and is a member of the Department of Retailing Adjunct Faculty. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the State South Carolina, and also is a Certified Valuation Analyst. He specializes in Business Valuation, Business Consulting, Business Start-up, Strategic Planning, For-Profit Auditing and Tax.
Scott has spent the last twenty-five years practicing in the areas of accounting, finance, business planning, strategic planning and consulting, serving both private industry and public accounting. Additionally, he has taught accounting principles, cost accounting and financial management. Scott began his career in management accounting progressing through the ranks of large Fortune 100 companies. Scott has experience as a Controller, Division Controller, Region Controller, Group Controller, Director of Strategic Planning, Director and Vice President of Financial Shared Services and Vice President of Finance. He has operated as the Chief Financial Officer for regions and groups of businesses that generated as much as $1b in sales quarterly, overseeing over $1b in net asset value and being responsible for the management, supervision and direction of 325 accounting associates. In Public Accounting, Scott has ample experience in Sarbanes Oxley consulting engagements, strategic, operational and financial consulting, auditing, tax and business valuation & business start-up. His past experience in Mergers and Acquisitions in large businesses also compliments his consulting in business valuation engagements. Scott also sits on the Board of Advisors for a number of small-business Retailing and Manufacturing companies.
