USC College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management The College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) announces a record-breaking fall enrollment for 2011 with 2,105 students, an increase of 170 students from fall 2010. “This is a milestone achievement for our growing college,” said Dean Brian Mihalik. “I am extremely proud of our department and program chairs, as well as each faculty and staff member who contributed their efforts and leadership, resulting in us reaching this tremendous milestone. This college continues to graduate outstanding students who help drive the economic engines of South Carolina and the region.” HRSM is now the university’s third largest undergraduate college, providing integrative and practical academic preparation for students in a collaborative environment that promotes applied research and service projects with peer institutions, global colleagues and industry partners. The fall enrollment is up 55% from the year 2000. This year the College enrolled 2,002 undergraduate majors and 103 graduate students, including seven students admitted to the college’s new Ph.D. degree program in hospitality management. The College of HRSM was founded in the 1960’s as a collection of several associate degree programs offered through the university’s Extension Service Program, later called the College of General Studies, and now known as the College of Hospitality Retail and Sport Management.
