The
Institute provides nationwide leadership in developing the following areas:
- Proactive
policy analyses relative to developing trends and issues impacting the
restaurant and foodservice industry. Currently these issues include- the living
wage political initiatives, minimum wage impacts, training and hiring
interventions to combat high turn-over employment rates, foodservice sanitation
concerns of the dining public and ecological concerns of government agencies.
- National
reports on issues of concern to the industry, and more specifically, the Institute’s
stakeholders. These include training outlooks, recruiting forecasts, trends
predictions for service, food, ambiance, and buying habits.
- Creation
of an Annual Conference of Industry and Academic Leaders. The events of this
conference will identify areas of concern to industry and facilitate timely
responses to external threats and opportunities.
- Partnering
issues created by strategic alliances between and among restaurant and
foodservice firms.
