Biography
Charles G. Partlow is Professor and Chair in the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He earned his Ph.D. from Kansas State University, where he served as Director of the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program. His educational background includes an M.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and a B.S. in Food Management and Dietetics from Mississippi State University. He is also a Certified Hospitality Educator with the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

Dr. Partlow has over 25 years of experience in hospitality management, consulting, and education.  He is an active researcher and writer with over 70 article publications, and has recently completed a nine year term as Executive Co-Editor of the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education. His teaching and research expertise lies in the areas of total quality management, strategic management, and leadership. He also spent 10 years as consultant to Burgundy Group, Inc., a firm specializing in management education technologies for the hotel industry and hospitality education. Dr. Partlow is a member of the National Restaurant Association, the American Hotel and Lodging Association and the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education and serves on numerous committees and special interest groups.
