| OUTSTANDING ALUMNI AWARD RECIPIENTS 2008 | |||||||
The College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management presented its Outstanding Alumni Award to the following recipients at the Homecoming festivities on November 7. The Oustanding Alumni Award Recipients are: Molly Britt graduated from USC in 1994 with a degree in Hotel, Retail, and Tourism Administration. In 2004, Britt launched MollyAnna, a maternity clothing line inspired by her own pregnancy with her daughter Anna. Since then, the clothing line has gained popularity with Hollywood’s celebrities and has been featured in over 30 publications. Britt also spent time working in Los Angeles in television production and finance. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. “It is an honor to be in the company of these outstanding alumni, who have had extremely successful careers and are amazing role models for the students of this college,” said Tina Weaver, director of Alumni Relations. “We are pleased to have such great support from our alumni and friends and it is a great opportunity to be able to recognize these deserving individuals.”
Mike DeMaine received his Bachelor’s in Sport Administration from USC in 1995. He is the general manager of the Greenville Drive and has also worked with the Frisco RoughRiders Baseball Club, the Charlotte Checkers and the West Coast Hockey League. DeMaine currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina, with his wife Jamie and their three children, Grace, Sophie and Lacie. “This is a well-deserved recognition for Mike,” said Tina Weaver, director of Alumni Relations. “Not only has he been successful in his career, but you couldn’t ask for a more enthusiastic supporter of the University. He presents at the International Sport Conference, mentors students and attends college career nights.”
Frankie Marion graduated from USC in 2001 with a degree in retail. He is currently self-employed and has worked with several outdoor and fishing companies. In 2002 he launched Pescador Brand Clothing, a company that produced fishing gear. He is also a member of the college Alumni Society Board. “It is an honor to be in the company of these outstanding alumni, who have had extremely successful careers and are amazing role models for the students of this college,” said Tina Weaver, director of Alumni Relations. “We are pleased to have such great support from our alumni and friends and it is a great opportunity to be able to recognize these deserving individuals.”
Stacey Tarpley received her degree in Information Management from USC in 1998. She now works as an enterprise project manager for Wachovia Corporation. She currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband Keenan and children Kevin and Kelly. “ It is an honor to be in the company of these outstanding alumni, who have had extremely successful careers and are amazing role models for the students of this college,” said Tina Weaver, director of Alumni Relations. “We are pleased to have such great support from our alumni and friends and it is a great opportunity to be able to recognize these deserving individuals." |
