Alumni Society Fund
For many students, the life-changing educational opportunities of study abroad are but a dream due to limited financial resources. The Alumni Society of the College of HRSM is answering this need with the Alumni Society Fund. The fund provides scholarships and awards to worthy students who are interested in study abroad, Maymester course destinations and industry conferences.

Accomplishments:
Roland Trout, SPTE ’06, was selected for membership to the Greensboro Sports Council. The Sport’s Council’s mission is to serve as the ambassador to collegiate and professional sports in Greensboro, NC. Roland becomes the youngest member in the group’s history.

Jonathon Sorrenti, iIT ’08, was named Staff Member of the Year at Midlands Tech while serving in Kosovo with the National Guard.

Mark Barrett, SPTE ’04, is leaving his position at Live Nation to move to Malawi, Africa to work at a children’s hospital with a non-profit for a year.

New Job Positions:
Duane Randall, SPTE ’12, has been hired by Global Spectrum as the Event Manager of Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, NY.

Wesley Wood Bloomfield, HRTM ’12, is currently working as the Senior Marketing Manager for Charlestowne Hotels in Charleston, SC.

Frank Finger, RETL ’11, has begun working in Sales Development for Ben Arnold.

Prince Pressley, IIT ’12, is now working as a Systems Support Technician for Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina.

Brendan Potter, HRTM ’12, is currently working for Marriott Vacations Worldwide as the Bench Manager in the US Virgin Islands.

Brian McCrodden, MSPTE ’08, is currently working as the Recruitment & Programming Coordinator for the 2013 Summer National Summer Games.

Stephanie Bouffier, HRTM ’11, is currently working as the Assistant Logistics Manager for Southern Way Catering in Columbia.

Daniel Farra, HRTM ’04, was recently promoted to Area Director for Applebee’s in the Charleston area.
