Biography
Dr. Khalid Ballouli was recently appointed a faculty position in the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina. His research has led to publications appearing in refereed journals such as Sport Marketing Quarterly, International Journal of Sport Communication, Sport Management Education Journal, and International Journal of Entrepreneurial Venturing, as well as dozens of national conference proceedings. Dr. Ballouli has served as co-investigator on funded research investigating sponsorship effectiveness and service quality at sporting events. He has also authored numerous book chapters, and consults with various firms in the sport and entertainment industry. He currently teaches the undergraduate course of Sport and Entertainment Marketing.
Dr. Ballouli is a former professional baseball player of the Milwaukee Brewers, with whom he played five years as one of the organization’s top pitching prospects. His professional career was cut short due to an injury to his arm in 2007. He played his college baseball at Texas A&M University, where he was a four-year letterman, two-time team captain, and C.E. “Pat” Olsen Pitcher of the Year award winner. Dr. Ballouli remains active in his community by helping local youth sport organizations foster skill and character development.
