Spring Splash Tennis Tournament
For information about the 2007 event, click here.

The Department of Sport and Entertainment Management’s annual tennis tournament, the Spring Splash, is organized by Sport and Entertainment Management majors, traditionally as part of the SPTE 444 course Sports Event Administration. Proceeds from the event go to scholarship opportunities within the department.

Held over the course of three to four days, the tournament attracts league tennis players from across the state of South Carolina, competing in several divisions: men’s and women’s singles and doubles, USTA rankings 2.5 – 4.5. Participants are treated with true southern hospitality, including nightly player parties, memorable event merchandise, and the opportunity to win great sports-related items in the Silent Auction. In addition, a golf tournament has also been held in conjunction with the Spring Splash.

On its way to becoming one of the premier tennis tournaments in the state and in the southeast, the Spring Splash is a must for tennis enthusiasts.

Legends Challenge
A new tradition in the almost century-old rivalry between the Gamecocks and the Tigers, the USC-Clemson Legends Golf Tournament has become one of the signature events of Carolina-Clemson weekend each November. Rotating between the Walker Course at Clemson and the University Club here in Columbia, the event has featured such stars as Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers of South Carolina and two-time Super Bowl winner Jim Stuckey of Clemson.

A wonderful way to enjoy the festival atmosphere of the Carolina-Clemson football game, the Legends Challenge also provides students and their families with a chance to meet these football greats up close and personal, as well as support the Sport and Entertainment Management Department scholarship fund in the process.

"Tee It Up"

The "Tee It Up" Golf Tournament is an semi-annual event presented by the students and faculty of the Sport and Entertainment Management Department. Held on Reading Day during both the spring and fall semesters, the goal of "Tee It Up" is to promote goodwill and solid relationships between the department and other members of the USC and Columbia communities. All proceeds from the event are used to support scholarship opportunities at the University as well as the educational advancement of current USC students.

"Tee It Up" is open to anyone in the community willing to support USC and its Sport and Entertainment Management Department. Persons of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate. The event includes a light breakfast, full round of golf, lunch and prizes for individual and team winners. Students who participate in the event also get the opportunity to meet with prominent members of the South Carolina and Columbia communities as well as alumni and friends.

Contact the department for more information about participating in any of these three great events!
