The International Conference on Sport and Entertainment Business (ICSEB) began in the late 1980s to promote dialogue among various segments of the industry. The conference was held in Columbia, South Carolina, for three years and was both well received and well attended. In the fourth year it was relocated to Paris, France, in an effort to provide a truly "international flavor." The conference returned to Columbia in 2001 after a seven year hiatus and has been enthusiastically received ever since.
In 2008 ICSEB was renamed Sport Entertainment & Venues Tomorrow (SEVT) to reflect a new collaboration between the University of South Carolina Department of Sport and Entertainment Management and the trade publication Venues Today. Together, they have taken the conference to a higher level. SEVT has become a "conference like no other" by creating a unique setting where industry executives, faculty members and students can map the future of the sport, entertainment and venue management industry. SEVT unites the minds of the present for a vision of the future.
2012 marks the 16th anniversary of this conference.
