Biography
Dr. Harrison is an Academic Advisor in the Department of Retailing at the University of South Carolina. She also teaches a class, SCCC 380-O: Student Activism in the 1960s and 70s, for South Carolina Honors College at USC.
Prior to her current position, Dr. Harrison was the Director of Guidance at Cardinal Newman School in Columbia, for five years, Director of Academic Affairs for South Carolina Honors College for ten years, and an adjunct instructor for Midlands Technical College in Columbia, as well as for Central Carolina Technical College (formerly Sumter Area Technical College) in Sumter, for two years. In addition, she has held various positions in career counseling for eighteen years, in radio broadcasting for six years, as a teacher for learning disabled children and as a caseworker for two years. For many years, she has also served as an event planner, a private career/educational consultant and has led many workshops and presentations on career development and educational topics, gender issues and diversity/multiculturalism.
